DELEGATION OF THE GERMAN FILM INDUSTRY TO CHINA
Beijing
14–19 October 2019

On 14–19 October 2019, Bridging the Dragon producers' association organised the first official delegation of the German film industry to China in collaboration with the German Federal Film Board (FFA), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Film and Television Fund Bavaria (FFF Bayern). The objectives of the delegation were to give delegates a sense of the Chinese film industry, to provide an initial understanding of the Chinese market procedures, to follow-up on the Chinese-German co-production treaty, and to facilitate discussions on potential collaborations.

Among us were Peter Dinges (FFA), Oliver Zeller (Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg), Dr. Lisa Giehl (FFF Bayern), Helge Albers (Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein), Stephanie Schettler-Köhler (Pantaleon Films), Henning Kamm (Real Film Berlin), Sebastian Voss (Ziegler Film), Ulrich Schwarz (Rise Pictures), Ufuk Genç (Cine Chromatix / Lightburst Pictures), Oliver Damian (27 Films Production), Caroline Daube (Maze Pictures), John Hörnschemeyer (Penned Pictures), and Dr. Daniel Baur (K5 Film).

The delegation met with key Chinese players like CFCC China Film Co-production Corporation, China Film Group which all imported films in China have to work with, world largest theatre operator Wanda Pictures, China Arthouse Film Alliance, largest online video platform iQiyi, and many more. Our delegates have established valuable professional relationships and have deepened their understanding about the Chinese market.
