11 May 2018

Bridging the Dragon and the Marché du Film, in partnership with the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée), presented a new edition of the Sino-International Company Meetings. The event took place on Friday, 11th May 2018.

Tailor-made matchmaking meetings were arranged for over 50 companies. This year the event was particularly successful. The level of companies was very high from China, Europe and some other international countries - a sign of the growing interest in the initiative.

Among the international ones, producer and sales agent The Coproduction Office ("The Square"), production arm of the Italian national television RAI Cinema, Globalgate Entertainment, the local-language film production and financing venture aligned with Lionsgate, distributor Trinity Cine Asia (recently distributed in the UK the renowned Chinese movie "Youth"), Barcelona-based genre specialist Filmax, Norwegian Maipo Film focusing on commercial and family entertainment, German visual effect studio Rise Pictures, and many other appreciated companies.

From the Chinese side, veteran producers such as Jeffrey Chan from Bona Film Group, one of the leading distribution companies mostly known for their genre movies like this year's blockbuster "Operation Red Sea" (over € 460 million) and his own new Just Creative Studio; Dadi Film, one of the largest Chinese cinema chains with over 4.000 screens and a growing distributor and content producer; WD Pictures the new creature of the team behind Jackie Chan's "Skiptrace" and other commercial successes; Spire Media who recently co-produced the Zhang Yimou-helmed epic drama "Shadow"; Beijing-based Base FX, creator of the visuals of blockbuster franchise "Monster Hunt", distributors and producers like S&C Pictures, Linmon Pictures and others.
