3rd SINO-EUROPEAN PROJECT LAB – MODULE 1

13–16 June 2017

Bridging the Dragon, in collaboration with ARRI, kicked off the 3rd edition of the Sino-European Project Lab from 13–16 June 2017 in Nanjing before the Shanghai International Film Festival. Five European and six Chinese film projects suitable for co-production were selected for the Lab. The aim of the initiative is to foster the development of projects suitable for collaboration between the European and Chinese film industries. Film projects from China and Europe are tutored by respected scriptwriters and production experts, in order to help overcome cultural differences and improve their feasibility. 

This year among the tutors are director/screenwriter Cao Baoping, novelist/screenwriter Yan Geling (among many titles Zhang Yimou's Flowers of war, Coming home and the new Feng Xiaogang's movie Youth), scriptwriter Philip LaZebnik (scriptwriter of animation blockbusters such as Mulan, Pocahontas, Prince of Egypt), Rikke Ennis, CEO of TrustNordisk and Zentropa China, Hong Kong producer Chow Keung, Abe Kwong (formerly general manager of script development at Wanda and Vice President of Enlight and now Senior VP of Magilm Pictures), Hou Keming (professor at the Beijing Film Academy, chairman of the China Children's Film Association and president of the China International Children's Film Festival), etc. For more infos see here.
